I wanted to turn off my phone. It would be so much easier to shut everyone out and just live a life without conflict. I would be much easier to keep a wall up and keep people out. I hurt people. People hurt me. I disappoint people. People disappoint me. It is ALWAYS those closest to us, isn't it? And sometimes, nobody can make you feel like a completely, messed up piece of trash like those you are closest to. They have seen you at your best and seen you at your worst.
BUT GOD... God calls us to love unconditionally. Through all the dysfunction, the hurt, the conflict, God calls us to LOVE each other as He has loved us (John 13:34). How did He love us? Oh yes, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for us (John 3:16). He loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).
That is how God wants us to love. So I will pick up the phone and speak life. And when I fail? I will be humble and admit my error.
